Our philosophy has always been PLAY PLAY PLAY ... and you have an opportunity to go to a good summer league.

We have known several players who have elected to stay home and condition ... but those players are NOT improving their skill levels from playing live games.

As a pitcher, I think that is twice as important to build your stamina on the mound ... not in a bull pen ... Our son utilizes a long toss program, and other conditioning work outs, and was able to incorporate everything in his daily work while playing summer ball in both Alaska and the Cape. Most summer coaches understand that and support it. Those coaches are there to show that they can coach and wouldn't stand in the way of a player improving himself. Altho some players do have to work while away at summer ball, they are still able to incorporate their conditioning, work, and games into their daily plans. Plus, you will meet players and develop lifelong friends in the process ...

So, IMHO ... go play summer ball.
