Thanks to the board for your kind words. Many of you share the same joy watching your sons play the game we love. For Simon, we hope his "ride" won't stop in college. And hopefully, he won't have only 6 college games left. He (and we) are so fortunate that he was able to find the right "fit" for his academics and athletics. For me another blessing is that we live 25-30 minutes from the field. It's funny, but my son sees himself as an athlete who is bright, whereas my wife and I think the other way around. As my wife has told him, "embrace your nerd-dom."

As for an update, Simon had 4 more hits a few days ago in a midweek loss and stole bases #s 29 & 30.   3 or 4 scouts attended. After a groundout 5-3, one hop to 3B, one scout said "3.88 (sec for his home to first time)" Another one turned and said "that can't be right?" The third man looked at the first saying, "I got the same, 3.88"

I told my wife the other night, "she raised him right.." She turned to me and said "not necessarily faith played a role,". But one thing that she told him since he was playing as a kid, stuck with him :  "play the game right; you never know who is watching in the stands."
