How many middle school, high school and college games were played between incidents? How many pitches were thrown? How many thousands of pitchers didn't get hurt? Would the kid have been drilled with a wood bat? I'm not being pro metal. I'm pointing out how statisically insignificant the incident is. My son has been hit in the head hard enough for the ball to land in the dugout. He was knocked unconscious. The ball was hit by a wood bat. If you want to make metal bats an issue the better arguement is baseball is a better game with wood.
