Bedford - 12 @Londonderry - 4 Bedford turned a tight 4-4 game into a rout with 4 runs in the top of the 7th and 3 more in the top of the 8th. Bedford had 20 hits on the night against 4 Londonderry pitchers. Mike Laflamme (3H,2R,2RBI,SB), Matt Woodmansee (3H,2B,4RBI), Jordan St. Jean (3H,2B,2R), Pat Parker (3H,2B,1R) and Lucas Olen (3H,2B,4R,3RBI) led the way for Bedford. Chase DiStasio pitched the final 4 to earn the win in relief of Joey Maher. Londonderry starter Justin Rennick pitched...

Based on 2011 grads Baseball America and Perfect Game have the following first 3 listed in the top 100, I also listed their colleges should they not go pro. Derek Fisher/College UVA Cameron Gallagher/College ECU Mike Papi/College UVA Justin Bianco/PITT Obviously there are alot more players with tremendous talent but these are the guys off the top of my head. Also there are a couple of 2012 kids that will be ranked highly next year.

Watch out for Con Val, they will surprise people. Con Val has 2 amazing coaches. They love the kids and do whatever they can for them to succeed. Tempone will be a force on the mound. They also have Kyle Fisher who is one of the top hitter in Class I. Those two players are ideal to lead this team. There are players who will back them up like Cohen, Martin, and Sullivan. They have worked very hard during the off season as well. Tough bunch of players. Watch outttttt To Con Val Please dont...

BobbyTewks you wrote about Londonderry in the Nashua North vs Londonderry: Corolla: He commanded both sides of the plate, worked good sequences. (Not the typical HS fastball up, curve away.) That is a backdoor complement to Geoff Fisher the Londonderry catcher because he calls the whole game and has for the last 2 years. I know the execution is by the pitcher but the selection is from the catcher. Thanks!

Back door, front door, side door, doggy door... The kid hit his spots. Corolla pitched against my fall GSBA team, Fisher catching, and pitched very well then too. The pitcher makes the final choice what pitch to throw, but these two seem to really work well together. You don't see many HS kids attacking the inside corner, let alone doubling up inside. He/they had good sequences going all night and adjusted very well the 2nd and 3rd time through the lineup showing hitters new looks each time...

BobbyTewks The pitchers don't always have the last say. Carollo only shook off Fisher once all game. Pitchers are out there to pitch and not think and should let the catcher call the game. The catcher and pitcher will communicate to see what is working and what feels good out of their hand.

Pretty good match up tomorrow Bishop Guertin at Londonderry. This may be the final match up between BG's Londonderry resident and GSBA Fan Favorite Alexandar Trammell and his long time teammate Londonderry's Geoff Fisher. I have seen these two playing together since they were probably 9 or 10 years old, a Fisher v. Trammell match up would be pretty great, although I think that Fish pitches Fridays.

Bsbl247, I was going to leave this alone, but figured there's another point I can make that will hopefully help some other young man along the way. That being, JD Davis and Rhys Hoskins performed like I expected them to. What was more impressive to me, and the point of this post, was how some of the middle to lower tier players stepped up and...

Salem- Joe Morin 1B/OF/P is a pretty good hitter for Josh Treff is a solid backstop but doesn't have a lot of pop. Watched the game with Shipbuilder and GSBA behind home plate after Londonderry knocked us out. Tough day for the hitters as Poore and Fisher battled. Would have loved to see Fisher fresh - he caught 7 innings against us in the previous game. The Salem offense took advantage of some errors and Londonderry had a chance in the 6th, but the video above shows how Poore shut it down. It was a great day for baseball in November!

Re: NH's best.....Catchers

Some of our guys were: Fisher from Londonderry who is actually a very talented pitcher as well. Myself a former catcher would rather have him behind the plate because I truly appreciate his ability. Today it is tough to find such a fundamentally sound catcher who a. calls a good game and b. controls a game like Fish does. Treff from Salem is also a very talented backstop he is very solid defensively however needs to improve his bat. Poission from Spaulding is another strong defensive...

Re: NH's best.....Catchers

on a longer time line keep an eye out for Keagan Smith from Londonderry, most likely won't see much time this spring with Geoff Fisher around but if Keagan listens to Geoff in addition to his ability you may be looking at a very talented backstop.

Obvious bias here: but I don't think it is a stretch to say that Geoff Fisher will be the top L catcher this upcoming season. His pop time was 1.9, knows the game in and out, and has the grit that makes good catchers great ones. I know some would point to Mathieu from Pinkerton, but he has some holes in his catching game- excellent hitter though!

Re: NH's best.....Catchers

I've seen Mathieu from Pinkerton, I don't think anyone would compare Fisher to Mathieu defensively. Fisher is a STUD. You have my support in this point of view.

I have had the pleasure of working behind BOTH Jeff Fisher and Nick Nalette. Both catchers are solid walls behind the plate AND really give the blue guys a great look at pitches to get more strikes. They both show confidence with the "close" ones by not moving their glove. I am not going to get into who's the best because there is no point to that as far as I am concerned. They BOTH talk to their guy on the mound keeping him in the game and focused. Both are quality players and will be great...

A player has to be nominated and then the nomination is scrutinized and checked out with the high school coach to make sure it's for real. If you check out this list of players, you'll see that these kids are top of line players. Troy Sutherland - Alabama Tyler Chatwood - UCLA Casey McElroy - Auburn...

Potomac Falls should lead the pack again. Replacing Jake Kline on the mound and Mike Spring behind the plate will be tough, but with one of the best junior classes in the region with Sweger, Mahoney, Fisher and more leading the way, these guys will be legit for the next two years. Broad Run may be able to give Pot Falls a run for their money with Ryan Johnston, Chris Lane, Zach Rawson and a couple of others leading a solid offense. I'm curious to see how the season unfolds.

I see Quincy's point. If my son had the opportunity I don't know if he'd go with the Irish or Norwegian National teams . One grandma would really be let down with his decision. I have an issue with this. If you're not good enough to make YOUR country's team, then acknowledge your heritage as a second option. Sadly, these types of injuries happen to pitchers in every organization. This pitcher was playing right up the street from our home for the AA Fisher Cats. Mr. Elliott's article may not be completely accurate. McGowan had undergone the surgery <May 12> and reported for extended Spring Training <May 18> all prior to the day this was published <May 23rd>. I understood he had a pre existing tear in his elbow that the Blue Jays were aware of. Perhaps he has made a mistake.
