Anyone go to WCU camps, or have info on coaches? Being from Jersey I know they have recruited here. What kind of players coach Prachniak likes? Anything at all?

Anyone have info on them? Any info at all. I know about the school and education, but what about baseball? How/where they recruit, showcases they attend, how their camps are, and, above all, how to get their attention from all the way up in Jersey?...

Re: Haverford Recruiting Story

HaverDad ·
During this Memorial Day weekend, Haverford will celebrate The Life of Dean Greg Kannerstein . Also see : Mr. Kannerstein's Opus by Haverford grad Arn Tellum. Greg was a great guy, and long-term Fords baseball coach. But I reference him here because he also applied the key leverage in the original New York Times recruiting series about Haverford. Five years ago, Kannerstein was Haverford's Athletic Director when he successfully persuaded the College's powers-that-be to allow Times writer...

lsockmom ... First off ... welcome aboard ... Always good to have another LADY in the lounge and on the site. I echo the advice you have received from my other friends here ... learn as much as you can from this site, which is by far one of the most helpful that I have seen ... and wish the Scouting Service a hardy farewell and Godspeed. There is too much free info and advice around to spend money on a service (IMHO). We did not utilize this site or any service during our son's high school...

NYdad2017 ·
Not a showcase, but a college camp run by the Hit Doctor (Tri State Arsenal) in south NJ. Three weekends: December 6/7, 13/14, and 20/21. Over 32 coaches will be there, spread out among the three weekends.

NYdad, is that the camp in Voorhees? If so, I didn't realize that it was being run by Arsenal. My son will be attending.

JAM3, yes it is run by the Hit Doctor/Arsenal. My son also attended last year. I thought it was a well run camp. Alot of interaction with coaches, within the NCAA guidelines of course.

Check the All Star Baseball Academy website. Make sure it's the West Chester PA location. When my son went through the process a few years ago they ran several winter showcases indoors.

Re: Scandal Rocks Penn State

AntzDad ·
To me, a Pennsylvanian, this is more an indictment about Penn State, and State College, Pa, than individuals. I didn't go to Penn State, but lots of my friends did. I've been there many times, especially for football. There is a definite air of arrogance about the place. Nobody messes with Joe Paterno, or Penn State football. Nobody rocks the boat. If you do, most likely, you'll find yourself out of a job, in the middle of nowhere.

Is that true freshmen, redshirt freshmen or both?

Only Players listed as "Freshman". Note, even in these cases, a "Freshman" could be a "Redshirt Freshman". Note, upon including "Freshman and Redshirt Freshman" the numbers for 2019 increases 66 to 68.

I don't know anything about Lynn directly, but one of my son's JUCO teammates is going there next year. They play in the Sunshine State Conference and are in the middle of the pack baseball-wise. The player that is going there is a big 1B/3B/P who hits with power. I don't know how they recruit, but I can tell you that one way to be seen by them is to play for a Florida JUCO. Here's the SSC baseball website http://www.sunshinestateconfer...sport.asp?sportID=18

Re: West Chester camps

Never met the coaches but West Chester has traditionally attracted tough, blue collar kids. Their recent success in baseball over the years probably attracts more talented players as well. The school has always been considered a good education major school, especially Phys. Ed. There are other schools that are more expensive with more rigorous academics but West Chester has always been a good option for blue collar kids. I think their team make-up reflects that as well. Hope this helps. Good...
