Homecoming by Dansby Swanson

I just shared this with my son. He sounds like a really good kid that has been through a whirlwind in the last couple of months. He hits on some great points about talent, passion and being a good person, not just a good baseball player. Just though it was timely given some other recent threads.

I read that yesterday, nice read. Funny, my son pitched against him in HS when they were both juniors. I know we beat his team, but I don't remember how Dansby did against my son. If I knew he would be the #1 draft pick and playing for the Braves in the future, I probably would have paid more attention and remembered. Lol.

He's unassuming type I think. I can see how you missed noticing him. But from what I've read he's awesome. He'll be tested soon I'm sure.

I just didn't know at the time he would be a College WS champion and MVP, #1 draft pick or playing for the Braves. I have the write up from the game. My son went 5 innings, 4 hits, 2 runs, 9 Ks. I'm sure Dansby accounted for the two runs - Lol. No mention of Dansby in the...

Some people think I'm crazy, but it's one of the major reasons that I keep a scorebook.

When my son was 12 he had the pleasure of spending some time talking with him during a rain delay at the Vandy camp. He was just a freshmen at the time. During the 30 minutes or so they talked there was a little baseball and a whole lot of grades and how to act. He made quite an impression on my son. Even more when he got MVP and drafted number 1. My son hasn't been on a ball field without his shirt tucked in or made anything but A's since. Someday I'm gonna have to write him a letter and...
