Coach hand wrote letter?
My son is a sophomore in high school. He has received a little bit of interest from D1 schools, and recently, a coach hand wrote a letter to him. Does this mean anything opposed to a computer typed letter?

Probably a good indication.... unless it looks like girl's writing, gets his name wrong and asks him to come to camp for just $299 Usually, a personal hand written is a good sign but those sneaky marketing departments these days... depends what it says.

I thought that a D-I College Coach could not contact a freshman or sophomore recruit either by phone or letter. Am I wrong on this?

It is mailed to the school to the high school coach in regards to the player.

DAG, as a former D1 compliance director, I'm curious to know (although I don't expect you to say publicly) whether the letter was written to the coach about your son (which I would view as borderline acceptable), or whether it was written as if being sent directly to your son (crossing the line in my opinion)?
