Great job, guys!

Re: 2005 draft

I stated earlier that the reason you use fair slot money is give yourself room to play with the figures in the round. A. Graduated college players get paid the least because they have the fewest options. You have to be compared fairly with comperable players in the round. One scout wanted to use a pick from last years draft. That player was a grad from college. The player in question was a hs grad. The college grad was the smallest signing of the round. B. I want it to be vague. That allows...

Re: Regional Quarterfinals - San Antonio Reagan vs. San Antonio Stevens

Infield08 ·
Game 2: Reagan scratches and claws its way to victory, with a 3-2 win over San Antonio Stevens in 8 innings. Carter Hahn pitched for the majority of the game, but Drew Martineau pitched the last two innings and gets the win. In the bottom of the 8th, with 2 outs, IF08 son reached on error and advanced to second base as the next batter was walked. Then centerfielder Robby Van Cour singled to score my son, which won the game and series. Our coach, who is a pretty stoic guy, rushed over to hug...

Batavia 9 St. Charles North 3 Only summer ball - but Bulldog seniors (to be) Jordan Coffey, Ryan Welter, Tim Drish hit the ball hard; Senior Joe Aguilar and Junior Ryan Kohl pitched and Soph call-up Jesse Coffey looked good at shortstop. For North, Hirsch had a couple of hits.

Jesuit-10 Grand Prairie-0 WP: Zach Walker LP: Johny Aguilar (I think...) Zach threw a perfect game in 6 innings and had around 10Ks. Did not throw a first pitch ball until the 4th inning. I hope this kid gets POTW consideration because he's been very steady for us through some otherwise inconsistent play this year.

Smithson Valley 6 San Antonio Reagan 2 San Antonio Reagan lost a heartbreaker to its biggest district rival Smithson Valley tonight. Reagan senior Brett Aguilar, bound for UTSA, got Reagan off to a fast start with a home run off the first pitch of the game, but Smithson Valley countered with a 3-run homer in the 4th inning. Both teams looked jittery at times. Reagan was missing one of its top pitchers and hitters (6 home runs thus far this season) due to a violent stomach virus. Reagan's...

dvrslim, Be encouraged!! This kid "lived 70 miles away" from ANYTHING, but he found a way! http://www.thebaseballcube.com...B/Homer-Bailey.shtml You don't need a recruiting service that IMO, takes a bunch & delivers little. This site was founded by Bob Howdeshell with kids like ours in mind!http://www.hsbaseballweb.com/small_town_heroes.htm Read the articles on recruiting, timeline, contacting coaches, etc. Put a video on youtube, & have your son send it, along with his letter of...

Re: Flower Mound vs El Paso Socorro

funneldrill ·
We played Socorro there 2 weeks ago. It is old and it is definitely not Citibank Ballpark. The Midland College guys were working the field and I thought it was in good shape. It was quick (dry) but I don't remember any crazy hops or anything like that. They did take down the 20 ft. wall and replaced it with a chain-link fence, so it has lost some of it's luster there. As for Socorro, their top 2 pitchers are very good. Gabe Aguilar is their #1, lefty, about 5'6 150 pounds. Throws all 4...

Tommy Hernandez, Sam Carpenter, John Marston, and Ed Aguilar...those are just 4 I can think right now. Associated with the Dallas Tigers, Dallas Mustangs, and last two with the Texas Blackhawks. Combined they see all the top talent between their own players and definately the other top talent in the area by playing others (each other, Panthers, etc.)

Updated transfer tracker up to 1726. Would imagine 1800 not far off now. Plus you throw in D2 and D3 and I am guessing there are over 3000 kids looking for new homes... From what I could tell from my old lists from last October 2020, there were about 1260 kids listed for the 2019-20 tracker plus another 100 names or so that they started the 2020-2021 (current) list with. There is probably some overlap in the lists, but this is something to be aware of...

Re: Kansas City Royals

The stats definitely look great. His contact and chase rate are both at an elite level and his power is well above average. He's a slow runner so he might not have super high babips but I could see vinnie being a 275/380/500 hitter if everything goes right, so ceiling would be like a bit worse version of a paul Goldschmidt with less defense and baserunning. That's a lofty comparison but you rarely see guys with low k rates, high walk rates and good power in the high minors being bad. The low...
