I think somebody did a study maybe 8-10 years ago that found the difference was 10 feet or so -- but that was many years ago. If all the hype about bats could be believed (and of course, it can't), it would be a lot farther, but then again, it would depend on a lot of other factors like trajectory of certain types of hits, etc. The distance thing doesn't bug me so much. If someone really nails a ball on the sweet spot, they deserve a decent hit. What I hate about metal bats is, you saw the...

baseballpapa, I'm glad you believe in what you belive in. Of course I don't agree. I believe in our system and it has worked. Our power numbers are extremely good for a high school team. Of course, you might argue that those doubles and triples would be HRs if they were to stride. Each to their own. Regarding your question about changing hitters. I don't ever change a hitter until I've watched them and allowed them to either have success or failure doing what they do. Then, I step in.
