The Virginia independent schools baseball association decided this past summer that because of the number of private schools playing baseball has grown dramatically in the last 5 years that they would follow enrollment quidelines for state championships based on enrollment 9 thru 12 similar to public schools in A,AA, and AAA. GCA has always played baseball in the largest enrollment division. We are the only team to do that at our school and I would personally like to continue but that is no...

Greenbrier 4 and Nansemond Suffolk 1. Greenbrier opened scoring in the first with Nachion Moore advancing to first on 3rd strike curve ball that got away. Moore stole second and Nick Maddux single to right to put runner at first and third. Maddux stole second. Chase Townsend drove both in with line drive to right and was thrown out at second. Adam Keeling threw complete game for NSA and showed excellent command (no walks) and a tight breaking ball(7ks). Trey Barham kept NSA off Balance for...

I think a lot of the success of the programs luvbaseball mentioned (WB, GB and NR) may be due to the youth league feeder systems that have been in place for decades. WBAC for WB, SCAA for GB and SYAA for NR (to some extent although it feeds into all three Suffolk high schools) where kids start learning the game of baseball at age 5. What league feeds into OS? WB's test will be its next two games when it plays two teams (Great Bridge and Nansemond River) who currently are tied for second...

The top 8 are, in fact, voted into position. It has, of course, caused some controversy over the years but it is the system employed. The Top 4 seeds host first round quarters 1-8, 2-7, 3-6, 4-5...Then, the semis and finals are held, I believe, on a friday and saturday up at Sheppards Field in Colonial Heights region. In Division I it is very close up top between #1 St. Christophers (49 points) and #2 Paul VI (46). Then it is Benedictine (37), Bishop Ireton (31), and Flint Hill (29).

Unfortunately, none of the 14U are Landstown kids. We do have 1 beach kid who should be a solid Catcher for St. Clair - Randy Rechkemmer. He is playing on the PA Middle School team. The majority of the 14U team is based in Chesapeake (dispersed between Hickory, Western Branch and GCA), Suffolk (NR) and 2 from the Peninsula (York & Bethel). We have 4 kids hitting 80 already and one who has hit 84 last fall. I could give more names but they are only JV kids right now.

Three7, We travel to both Nassau/Suffolk. We play out of FABL which is very competitive. The season runs for 8 weeks (Sundays only) and we would be looking to enter 2 tournaments locally at Baseball Heaven. We are building off of this years summer team, therefore we have a partial team. We have enough interest to fill out a roster if we had too, but we were waiting for a coach to see some more kids on the field.

White Sox lost both DH games, 6-2 to Mid MD Red Sox and 12-6 to Bayside Yankees. Pitching provided by Little (Kempsville) and Breedlove (Nasmond Suffolk) 1st game and Watkins (Menchville) and Pierce (Tabb) 2nd game. Did not see 1st game, but Watkins pitched well and Pierce pitched well in relief, but surrendered the lead due to sloppy outfield play and infield errors. Not the Sox's best showing of the season. Bogeyorpar's D3 Academic-Baseball College Ranking

Bogeyorpar ·
I had too much turkey and nothing else to do during the Thanksgiving weekend, so I decided to create a college ranking system that reflect both academic and baseball strength. The formula is very simple: 1. Take academic ranking from WSJ/Times 2017 College Ranking. The reason: this list ranks universities and LACs and Regionals together, so we don't have the problem of Williams/Amherst ranking the same as Princeton/Harvard. 2. Take D3 ranking from Massey Rating system. It ranks 380 D3...
