Re: Am I being overpitched
A properly conditioned arm is never sore. After pitching make as many negative throws as you did pitches in the game. Cosider getting Ron Wolforth"s Combat Pitching program. The man is a pitching genius.

Re: They all throw 90+
Supposedly Ron Wolforth has a stable of twenty or so guys all throwing 90+ at his Can-Am Academy in Houston.........pretty soon, kids will have to throw 98+ to garner any major D1 attention!!

Re: long toss ? when and how?
I forgot to give my credits. All of these exercises were created by Ron Wolforth who runs the Arm Speed Inc. in Texas. He has had 37 players drafted in the past two years, each one 95+ mph.

Arm Strength
In the strength and conditioning forum I found some good information on building arm strength. There were some positive comments made on a program called the "Athletic Pitcher Program", by Ron Wolforth. Have any of you folks heard of the program, or better yet used it? Or do you have any other favorites? Sorry for the post in the Texas forum, but it has almost 4X the activity as the S & C forum. Just planning ahead for the offseason...

Re: Update/arm pain
Baseballmom's son is clearly in very very capable hands with Ron Wolforth, To lump him with "MANY coaches/instructors..." might suggest a serious lack of knowledge in this area. I am not sure if you meant it this way but it seems like you don't even know who he is.

Re: Houston Area Pitching Coaches
Try calling Baseball USA in Houston. They ought to be able to help you out. Maybe Houston Heat Coach, or Kyle Chapman programs can suggest someone. Or Bellaire High School coaches can steer you in the right direction. Or Ron Wolforth... Leftydad?? Gloveman, any suggestion??

Re: To throw or not to throw?
In addition to conditioning. Long toss and weighted balls. No mound work. The goal is to strengthen the arm to withstand all the mound work during the season. My guy takes off completely for 15 days then starts throwing 4 to 5 days per week. We are believers in Ron Wolforth and Jaeger.
