My son played for Jr. Toppers. Made single elimination and lost first game. Team played good tournament. Only wish everyone had played same complex. Was great to see that many 14U great players and teams in one place.
My son plays for the Virginia Mavericks. They also made the championship bracket and ended up losing in the quarter finals to the Carolina Angels, 2-1 in eight innings. I guess with so many teams it's tough to find one complex to accommodate so many games. It was a great tournament as the competition was tough every game.
Beezer, I did not make the tournament, but my son told me they were a very good team. He pitched the last 3 innings or so against them when they played. He also said they were a bunch of nice kids as they played on the same fields during pool play and got to spend some talking with them.
Beez, They did well to be a team that comes from about a 20 mile radius in Northeast Tennessee. My little one (6'2") pitched against the South Oakland A's and won 7-4. He hit okay. We lost to the Georgia Mustangs in extra innings and then did not show up at all against the Austin Eagles in the championship bracket. The Texas Drillers won it all against the Carolina Angels. We are going to the CABA world series in a few weeks. Looking for team to play with at Disney if you hear of anyone wanting a little lefty that throws pretty decent.
