A relocation mid June has thrown a wrench in our plans for Summer ball. We have no clue as to what options are available in Georgia along the same lines of travel ball/select/showcase. Looking for some info/insight, appreciate any we can get!

There are MANY opportunities to play baseball in Georgia.  Especially if you live in the North Metro Atlanta area.  I'm not sure where you're moving into Georgia, but I'm sure no matter where you go, there will be opportunities to play.

Where are you planning to move to and how old is your son?  That will help narrow things down.  Also, here is a link to a local website that has a good bit of chat on local Georgia baseball.  There are sections listed for all age groups as well as sections lower on the list that allow teams to let players know they are looking for help as well as a place for players to let teams know they are available.  It may help as well.

This is a link to High School ages and above that currently have advertised openings:

Levels are BIG here in GA too.  Major, AAA, AA, A is the hierarchy.

If your son is high level I would recommend the Georgia Jackets out of Alpharetta, and Team Elite out of Winder/Roswell/Marietta.  Both make their presence known at PG events .

Another local powerhouse is 6-4-3 in Marietta. They are likely closed up for this year but worth a call, they won't play around they will tell you if they have an opening and tend to have smaller more select teams.

And of course there is East Cobb.  From where you are located it will be a killer to get to the main park in rush hour but sometimes they have a team that practices out of Alpharetta. ECB does have teams that play in national events and are considered one of, if not THE, premier places to play for in GA.  A word of caution though...just because the shirt says ECB doesn't mean it is a high level team. There are TWELVE 16u ECB teams.

Do your homework, many 16u teams tend to have 20+ players, practice away from their home park, and have what some consider to be "hidden" fees.  You may want to contact your zoned high school baseball coach for some suggestions.  The school should have their email listed under student athletics on the HS website.  You may want to include stats if you have them so he can offer relevant suggestions.

jtintex, my bad, I'm an idiot.  Haha.  Didn't even see that you put where you're moving and your son's age right in the title of the thread...  The website I gave you is still a good source.  CaCO3Girl had some good insight.  My son has been out of the travel scene for a few years, so CaCO3Girl will have more specific information than myself on what's going on.  I'll stand by saying that there are plenty of places to play within 30-45 minutes from the Alpharetta/Cumming area.  This is a hotbed for travel baseball.  The biggest hurdle you will have to overcome is finding a team that matches your son's skill set.  Try to make sure you don't end up on a team that is full of kids that are not up to the same talent level as your son.

JT - There is another link on same website referenced above.  Players looking for teams (versus team openings/tryouts).  If you popped a quick post out there, I'd bet a number of teams will respond to help narrow the search for baseball opportunities this summer.  Also - with some many PG tourney's @ Lakepoint, may want to search thru 16u/17u tourneys for teams from Texas that are close to you that your son could pick-up with to keep playing ball when you get to Georgia.

Shoot me a PM when ya get a chance since we are in same area you are moving to.  Next year Georgia will have a Big-44 division for HS's with 2k or more students so regions teams/schedules will change.

We made similar move into same region two years ago.  Websites are helpful, but I would recommend working the phones as soon as possible.  GA High School regular season wraps up this Friday.  Playoffs begin after that; State finals scheduled 5/20(ish).  Club seasons run August to July.  16U clubs will have taken the Spring off.  Teams will start getting back together as High School seasons end.  Reshuffle among clubs teams in happening now (players got hurt, players burned out, etc).  As mentioned earlier, baseball is very mature in area, lots of people know each other.  I would say:  Most information is passed verbally & via phone instead of website posting.  Call High School coach.  Since HS coach will not be Summer coach, you may get most honest lay-of-land details about immediate area.  Your mid-June arrival means six weeks left of Summer season.  You may have to 'take what you can get'.  Be all smiles and supportive; but start making plans for 17U club try-outs in early August.  All clubs, more-or-less, reboot at that time.   Other posters have given names of organizations.  I can't speak for many, but  I can tell you 6-4-3DP is class group.  They may not have available spots, but if you call, they will happily share information about landscape of the area and they can likely give you some solid leads.  Good luck.  Big move for a 16U young man.  PM me if you want more details.
