Boyertown has to be the favorite they have just walked through all 3 of there post season tournaments. There closest game so far has been a 6-1 win over state college and then after that in the state torny they had 4 straight ten run wins. They have 2 stud pitchers with there ace going to james madison (he was drafted by the braves in the 31 round?) and there 2 pitcher is going to harvard. And there strength is the way that they hit the ball. If any team can keep there lineup with under 5 runs i will be shocked.
I'm putting my money on Boyertown to win Mid Atlantics. The only loss they suffered this year was to a team they ten runned the night before. The next day they had decided to start their bench players and pitchers in the field and not a single starter played. They still hung with the team. They cruised through berks, regionals, and states and in Boyertown expectations have been high for this group of kids for years. They're expected to win the series. The first since 1987. I'll be attending all of the games. Should be an exciting tournament.
They had a meeting in the winter discussing things that led to their eventual huge downfall in states and the team had agreed that Binghamton had burnt them out last year. They felt they played their best baseball up there with the most intensity and came back flat and worn out. Their goal this year was to cut back on their grueling 65 game schedule. So far cutting back the 15 games seems to have made a difference.
Moundmaster if your son does get to pitch against the bears i hope he has a very good curve ball becasue he prolly has never faced a line up like theirs in a legion baseball game. Hopefully he doesnt try to throw fastballs by them becasue he will have a very long day. Ill let you know this 1-9 are all going ot play college baseball next year with just about all of them getting money to play. At schools such as Villanova, penn state, Delaware, Harvard, West Chester and Kuztown.
Look for Winchester Post#21 to get a win from RHP-Johnny "B" Goode against the WV team.

The winner of the VA/WV game will, I'm sure will meet up with Boyertown, PA in Day 2 action.

Look for the Vaughn kid to throw against Boyertown.

Winchester is a hot team at this point of the season, it appears many different players are stepping up.

Moundmaster i wish your son and team luck this weekend hopefully they will matchup with the bears on saturday night but with the forecast right now here in southeast pa calling for rain all day friday and saturday it looks like the torny might turn into a 3 day event .
also do you know when your son is throwing becasue i plan on watching all the games tomorrow and they are playing a very tough jersey team tomorrow.
Well to tell you the truth I think his coach has lost it... Why would'nt you throw your #1 pitcher in the first game so he can come back if you make the finals? He pitched 2 games in the states and 2 games in the districts starting the 1st game of both. (He also won the MVP in both) 28 innings pitched, 1.61 ERA w/ 37 K's. I just can't understand why he's not starting against the Jersey team... Newburgh was in the Regionals in Boyertown in 2000 and this same coach kept saving our #1 pitcher for the next game...He waited so long that there was'nt a next game and our #1 never pitched..
