MY SON IS A YOUNG (16 )2007 RHP. HIS AVERAGE FASTBALL IS 84-86 TOPPING OUT AT 89. HE ALSO HAS A GOOD BREAKINGBALL. HE HAS DONE WELL AT SUNSHINE EAST,RATED AN 8.PITCHED IN NE TOP PROSPECT GAME,AND ATTENDED OTHER SHOWCASES THIS SUMMER INCLUDING PUMA,BLUE CHIP ETC.HE IS AN HONOR ROLL STUDENT. HIS WISH IS TO PLAY D1 BALL.MY CONCERN IS THAT THERE HAVE BEEN SOME PHONE CALLS AND LETTERS WITH QUESTIONEERS BUT NO ONE DISCUSSES SCHOLARSHIP MONEY OR HAS SAID THEY WANT HIM TO PLAY.IS THERE STILL TIME OR HAVE WE DONE SOMETHING WRONG.ANY ADVICE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED.

I agree with itsagreatgame. Stay pro active meaning you need to "market" your son and not just set back and wait for things to happen. Contact the schools and the coaches and get their opinions of your son's ability. Make sure your opinion and their opinion are fairly equal. This helps ensure that your son has a good fit when he does find his school. I might add that your son should not get hung up on going just the D-1 route. There are many other avenues to a sucessful and rewarding baseball/academic career.
