Greene could be a good 1/1 candidate, right? will he be considered a pitcher or Position Player? reports say he is mechanically more polished as a pitcher than as a hitter but he has big power with the bat and he has time to polish his swing and then might become a top hitter in the pros too.

Kid is a beast...I would be shocked if he isn't #1 overall

As a pitcher, he could very well go #1. As a hitter, reports are that he's still a great prospect, but not quite that high.

The HS league that Greene is in is crazy -- he will be the 5th first-round pick in the last six years (including well-known names like Blake Rutherford and Lucas Giolito). Heck if Ritcheson (#51 on the BA list) has a really, really big Spring, it could even end up as 6 in six years. And what's really crazy is neither Greene nor Ritcheson won pitcher of the year in that league last year -- a 2018 (who is committed to UCLA) did.

We played with Greene a couple years ago on his first HS summer team. He came with some hype. He didn't stand out like I would have thought a future first rounder would. One thing for sure, he's been trained and groomed to a T. His father is a master promotor.

Interesting view, what I saw this summer certainly wasn't hype, the kid is a 5-tool player.

One of the things that I like about him is that he doesn't freak out when he gets hit.  Sometimes guys who are used to striking out everyone they face are dumbfounded when they get hit.  It affects them on the field and on the mound.  It happens often at PG when they face top batters.

We saw Hunter a lot this past summer.  His dad is a nice guy, but we didn't see anything promotional at all coming from him.  There's no reason or need for him to promote his son.  Everyone else is doing it, though.

Those that have been involved here on the HSBBW for a long time can probably remember topics about all the hype given to Bryce Harper and before that Justin Upton.  It always amazed me how many had kids that played with or against them and claimed they were over hyped.

Maybe a search for Bryce Harper or Justin Upton would uncover some of those old posts.
