Chapman defeats Birmingham-Southern for the D3 championship. That's the 4th straight year that the champ came out of the West region.
And 2 out of last 3 years from the SCIAC.
Kudos to Chapman as D3 Champs...met the coaching staff over the Summer of 2016 when 2017 son was at various showcases. Very impressed with their approach to recruiting and very active talking to kids at the events. Son was interested but his engineering major did not match up. However, two of his teammates from his travel ball team are on the team. 19-5 in the SCIAC and 44-12 overall. Impressive indeed.
Chapman pitcher Tyler Peck drafted by the Cards in the 28th round.
Is he their reliever who throws so hard (I hear)?
No that is Garcia, and he is a sophomore, unfortunately. He closes. Peck was their #1 starter. Their #2 Hernandez was just as good. Their top 3 guys by inning graduated as did their top 3 hitters, but they are very deep, especially on the hill.
