Walsh, Mabra, and Daniel Jordan have signed with UTA along with others from around the state...

The Mavs are in second behind TSU. Their record has improved over last year...

New bleachers, video scoreboard, and future fieldhouse for softball/baseball is on the way...

If Darin, Mark, and Jay call you, take the time to listen and go visit the campus...

Its not the same ol UTA...

I agree 100%. UTA was always known as a commuter school. That has somewhat changed. The campus is great and the baseball field is second to none. I was very impressed with the coaching staff and they are looking towards the future and are very committed to signing home grown talent.

I am pleased to announce that Drew Mayhall of Rowlett HS has signed on with Midland College and Brodie Walker of Waco Midway has signed with The University of Texas at Arlington. Drew and Brodie will play for "Evil" Dave Ostroff this summer...

Evil is correct but I prefer the "Dartmouth Demon"

Good luck to Drew and Brodie... They will have a great summer coach.
plano,

I agree with the part about supporting your kid and that your son should be in charge of his own scene, but our experience with DBAT couldn't be any more opposite than yours with the Marshals.

Mine played for DBAT 17U last summer. During December of his junior year, Cade Griffis held a meeting and explained the whole recruiting process. The team probably played 50 games last summer. I would say all but two were attended by college/pro scouts and recruiters, and most of those were numbered in the 8-10 range in attendance.

Cade, Kermit and the coaching staff did everything possible to not only get the scouts there, but develop the relationships and find out where the kid wanted to go, and whether that would be a fit. They stayed in constant contact with these guys to make sure nothing fell through the crack.

No doubt that the kid make the ultimate decision and take some action on his own, but DBAT gave mine many opportunities...he just had to take advantage of it.
Agree 100% tychco. Older son's 17U team had 15-18 players, can't remember exactly. If I remember correctly, I believe they got every player signed somewhere. Right PD? Obviously, the players had to do some work on their own. But the DBAT staff worked their rear ends off for these young men.

Younger one is coming up now and I wouldn't want him anywhere else!
It is my pleasure to announce that Tait Norris of Rowlett HS has signed with Western Texas JC and Sam Hansen of Waco Midway HS has signed with THE University of Texas - Arlington.

Trivia:
Sam Hansen is the son of Stan "The Lariat" Hansen of wrestling fame, from back in the day...

Discussion Topic:
What if "The Lariat" and "Evil" Dave Ostroff have an issue after a game in which "The Lariat" is not happy with sons playing time? Does Dave challenge Dad to a no holds barred match, winner take all? It is something to ponder...

My money is on whoever fights the Evil Empire...

Congrats to the kids...
I would like to congratulate the following DBAT Mustangs for signing with the following schools:
Haydn Vaughan - Letourneau University
Jake Abbott - Grayson County College
Jason Heflin - Frank Phillips College
Ian Richards - Frank Phillips College
Dan Fails - Eastfield College
Colin Moore - Paris JC
Jordan Dallalio - Seward County JC
Adam Farris - University of Dallas

Evil Dave, Brian Jones, Ralph Ross, and Barry Hoffpauir are doing a great job of assisting these young men and their families in finding these young men a place to play at the next level.

Nice Work

It was so hot, I needed to hit the showers early.

Heck, I tried to get him to toss me in the 4th but he wouldn't do it. I think he knew the slide rule he was enforcing was incorrect.

When you can't buy a hit off a guy throwing 81mph, sometimes coaches resort to different tactics to rally the troops. Although, I'm proud of myself for not saying one cuss word the whole time. Being a father has rubbed off on me in a positive way I guess.

Hope it doesn't happen again, but I won't promise anything.

Don't you love it when umpires defend their case even when they know they're wrong! Classic, and yes, I bet that cell phone bill is extremely high.
