Would he need to get clearance through the schools NCAA compliance office before he starts the process?
Be careful about how you go about this. Coaches talk and you wouldn't want this getting back to your sons current coach at his 4 year school. My advice would be to find a 3rd party go between that you can trust to reach out to a few JUCOs that you can trust. But keep it on the down low. Unless the 4 year coach wants your son to move on. If that's the case he could be very helpful in finding a JUCO for you. Either way you need to do your homework. If your son is a P find a program that develops pitchers. If he is a position player find a JUCO that is strong on that side of the coaching equation. Hardly any schools are good at both - its one or the other.
