Does this apply to all sports or just football?
Having had our school in several coin tosses (football) over the years due to a 3 way tie it would hopefully eliminate that.

I hope they try to make the districts equal also. It seems unfair now that a 6 team district gets 3 teams in just like an 8 team district.
Sorry for being old school about this topic but our society is sliding toward the YMCA thinking of everyone needs a trophy at the end of the season, then they'll all be winners. Put the swingdoctors vote in the NO box.
My understanding is that it applies to all districts, regardless of the number of teams...and that it will occur after the next redistricting -- which occurs after next season. I suppose the main pro is that more teams have a chance to get hot and have an impact on the state tournament, but there will be more .500 (or sub .500) teams involved as well. Also, for baseball...the end of the playoffs coincides with the MLB draft, graduations, etc. -- the playoff calendar will be expanded.
I think there is already too much of an overlap between the sports -- football/basketball/baseball-track. This continues to force kids to choose between the overlapping activities.

There will now be two teams in each division. So instead of Div. 1 ending a week before Div. 2, they will both end at the same time.
