Liberty/Fauquier postponed again.  Not looking like Tuesday Liberty/King George will go either and Friday with Courtland will be questionable if we get the rain forecast for Wed-Thurs. Which means we will have 5 to make-up and room for about 3 of those, pending any other rain-outs, unfriendly weather for HS baseball.

When the flood waters recede.......

KG schedule as follows:

Friday May 2 4:30 pm at Fauquier

Wednesday May 7 6:30 at Courtland

Friday May 9 7 pm at Caroline

Tuesday May 13 5 pm at JM

Wednesday May 14 4:45 pm at EV

Friday May 16 6 pm at Chancellor

Monday May 19 7 pm vs Chancellor

Tuesday May 20 6 pm vs Spotsylvania

Wednesday May 21 6 pm at Liberty

Hopefully, whoever is doing the rain dance will stop......

I know this is not complete as of right now 5/3 the records i believe are as follows

EV     5-2 still has KG, Fauq, Lib

KG     4-2 still has Court, EV, Lib, chanc

Fauq  3-2 still has EV, Lib (2), Chanc (2)

Chanc 2-3 still has Fauq(2), Court, Lib, KG

Lib     2-3 stil has EV, Fauq (2), KG, Chanc

Court  2-6 still has KG Chanc

There is 10 conference games anyone with suggestions or know the answer if this is correct?...its best guess from what i saw in schedules from school websites and maxpreps.

So KG and EV play each other this coming wed.

EV has KG wed, then liberty Tues 5/20

KG has EV wed. chancellor friday 5/16 then liberty Wed 5/21.

Seeding scenarios: IF EV wins Wed they would have all tie breakers and secure the regular season title and the #1 seed, IF KG wins Wed and Win one of the last two remaining games they win the regular season title and secure the #1 seed.

Looks like it will be a good one....

Chancellor has an outside chance at #2 seed if EV loses both remaining games and/or KG loses 2 of the last three and Chancellor wins out.

Right Arm, does that look correct?

Ok awesome, I wanted to check because I was not 100% sure that the "quality wins" tiebreaker component would include teams that finished below the spot in question. I.E. using the tiebreaker for the #2 seed by using record against the team finishing fifth when all other tiebreakers before (head to head, record against 1st place team, etc) are tied. Thanks for confirming.

Right Arm, does that look correct?

So as how i understand it : Win or lose for KG on wed. they will be the 4 seed because they have tie breaker over fauquier since KG split with higher seed EV and fauq got swept by EV.

So is this how playoffs will start:

MONDAY

Liberty (5) at Fauquier (4)

Courtland (6) at KG (3)

WEDNESDAY

Winner of 4/5 at EV (1)

Winner of 3/6 at Chanc (2)

FRIDAY

Winner of 2 games at higher seeds place.

PhitinPhils any details on the game,

Was at the game as a Chancellor parent.....Jason Morgan pitched a complete game and got the win.....Fauquier got 2 in the first on back to back triples and a suicide squeeze.......after that Chancellor began to chip away with 1 in the 4th, 2 in the 5th and 1 in the 6th and Chancellor turned a big double play in the bottom of the 5th. #4 from Fauquier hit a HR in the 6th and Morgan shut down Fauquier in the 7th....after the 1st inning, Morgan was pitching as well as he has all year minus the one mistake to #4 from Fauquier who is a good ball player

Attended the KG game.  Very good game.  Courtland got out to an early lead in the 1st inning.  KG tied it in the 2nd inning.  Score remained tied until the 5th when KG pushed two more runs across and then added one in the 6th.  In the 7th Courtland made it interesting by getting the first two batters on with no outs, but Lane Ward struck out one and then next hit into a game ending double play.

HIGH SCHOOL BASEBALL: The heavens say, ‘Hold up’

Members of the Chancellor  baseball team head back  to the locker room  after lightning was sighted during their Conference 22 semifinal game with King George  Wednesday evening at Chancellor High School. The visiting Foxes scored an unearned run off Chargers ace  Jason Morgan to take a 1–0 lead  before play was interrupted  after one inning by  persistent lightning flashes. After waiting for more than two hours, officials called it a night.  The game will be resumed either Thursday or Friday, weather permitting.

In conference 21 millbrook plays sherando for championship, the conference 22 Champion will play the loser of that game and the conference 22 runner up will play conference 21 champion, that is the way i understand it.

Found out Conference 22 has a policy that games unless are complete meaning finish at least middle of 5th inn, if home team winning or complete 5 if visitor team is winning must be started where they left off.  So the chancellor/KG game was called in the first must start where they left off.  Also VHSL pitching rules are in affect so good thing KG/Chanc game didnt get into the 2nd inning then that pitcher would not be eligible to pitch today.  Not sure i agree with the rule but that was what was said yesterday by AD.

Lets see if the teams will play today through the mist.

Here is how the north 4a region is looking:

Conf 24 in the semi's

Pulaski vs GW

Salem vs Jefferson Forrest

Conference 23 1 game final :

Harrisonburg vs Louisa

Amherst plays winner for championship

Conference 21 Millbrook vs Sherando for championship

Regional will go: with seeding: higher seed host

(1)Conf 21 champ vs (8)Conf 22 Runner Up

(4)Conf 23 champ vs (5)conf 24 Runner Up

(2)Conf 24 champ vs (7)Conf 23 Runner up

(3)Conf 22 champ vs (6)Conf 21 Runner up
