I believe this is the line-up for the 5A Region Semi-Finals:
El Paso Socorro vs Arlington Martin
Midland Lee vs Coppell
Tyler Lee vs Spring Klein Collins
Plano West vs Georgetown
Langham Creek vs Fort Bend Dulles
Cypress-Fairbanks Fort Bend Elkins
Corpus Christi Carroll vs McAllen
Austin Westlake vs Harlingen South

Who moves on and why?

At this phase of the tournament, the best teams usually win. I know that seems like an obvious statement, but it becomes more of a reality in the final 16. I won't make predictions that might offend our local friends Smile and because I really don't know much about the non-DFW teams, but I have been most impressed with the runs of Tyler Lee, Langham Creek, Georgetown, and Arlington Martin -- primarily because of the teams they have eliminated.

Having said that, Plano West has established themselves as a real contender by receiving steady pitching and timely hitting.
Langham Creek plays Kingwood. Kingwood eliminated Dulles 2-games to-1 in the 1/4 finals.

1/4 Finals
Kingwood 21-5A vs Dulles 23-5A
Kingwood 6 Dulles 2
Dulles 1 Kingwood 0 WP-Taylor (No-Hitter) LP-Pierce
Kingwood 10 Dulles 2 WP-Stover

Semi-Finals schedule
Langham Creek 17-5A vs Kingwood 21-5A
Thursday @ Langham Creek 7:30
Friday @ Kingwood 2PM
Saturday @ Jersey Village 6PM

Having had the opportunity to see GT and PW...the South will rise to the occasion. Dist. 14-5A is a better more competitve district.

Martin best beware of the El Paso Socorro...Those kids (and some fans) will fight to the bitter end. Socorro teams are usually backed by some of the fiercest fans in the State.

LC is in a position to run the table and bring home a ring.

Tyler Lee will show up and leave disappointed.

FBE has history and is now pretty hot Fairbanks will not fare well.

The only fans that compare to El Paso fans are the Corpus fans. This Carroll team will be tough.

AW is the HP of Austin and should prevail.

ML has tradition, big kids and made a great run last year but Coppell will have the arms to run to the final four.

KC will be tough as nails as will Tyler Lee but TL will meet its match.

Well I see it like this

El Paso Socorro vs Arlington Martin
Take Socorro, Martins Cinderella Story ends here

Midland Lee vs Coppell
Take Coppell and give the points

Tyler Lee vs Spring Klein Collins
Tyler Lee is good, but think this will be a short one.

Plano West vs Georgetown
Georgetown in 2, just too much for West

Langham Creek vs Fort Bend Dulles
I like Langham here, should be a tough one to forecast.

Cypress-Fairbanks Fort Bend Elkins
Fort Bend Elkins wins in 3

Corpus Christi Carroll vs McAllen
Carroll wins this one, low scoring games (I think)

Austin Westlake vs Harlingen South
Austin moves on in this one.

El Paso Socorro vs Arlington Martin - I'l take the rowdy fans.
Midland Lee vs Coppell - Coppell in 3 if it goes 3, those of you who know me know I wouldn't mind seeing a third game for personal reasons.
Tyler Lee vs Spring Klein Collins - Toss-up - TL can out hit most clubs but KC is deep.
Plano West vs Georgetown - GTown, beating better clubs everyway they can on the way. PW has doesn't have the bats against good pitching.
Langham Creek vs Fort Bend Dulles - I don't know if anyone can beat LC right now. See Katy.
Cypress-Fairbanks Fort Bend Elkins - Cy-Fair..I know a girl from there
Corpus Christi Carroll vs McAllen - CCC - back to the valley for McA, nothing good comes from the valley.
Austin Westlake vs Harlingen South - HarSouth might be the dark horse for RR. I dont like Westlake, kind of like SLC or HighPark

H5AB, Thanks for the info. Please have the UIL update their brackets. They are still showing Dulles as the winner over Kingwood. The Dallas paper is picking up the UIL so they show the same. email: brackets@mail.uil.utexas.edu
Not too sure about the DFW/Centex teams but Langham Creek has to be one of the favorites after shutting out #1 nationally ranked Katy TWICE for the sweep. Saw Collins eliminate Oak with relative ease (9-1, 18-2)

From the 3 matchups with a Houston area team, i'll take Collins over Lee in 2, Langham Creek over Dulles in 3 and Cy-Fair over Elkins in 3.
