Chris Kuber, 08 Catcher, Clovis East High School, California will be at Fresno City College this fall!
This has been a long road - and a hard decision. He is excited and preparing for a great year. I have decided to take the advice of Observer 44 and trust my son to make his own decision and let him make of this opportunity what he will. This will be a tough team to play on - they are all good - but he is determined. I am confident in him.
Someday he wants to be an ER nurse, or a Physician's Assistant. He is smart, capable and compassionate - so he will do well in that arena too.
He is playing on the Clovis Outlaws team this summer, a minor league style wood bat team.

He had his first game last week and caught 4 innings, went 1-2 and had an RBI against a college pitcher.
Thanks to everyone for all the help

Mikamom- congrats on your son's choice. It's hard as a parent to sometimes let them make such big decisions but if they have faith and confidence in themselves we have to trust in their decisions. That's wonderful he already knows what he wants to do with his career. Having a goal like that will go along way to help him stay motivated in college.

Now, all of us high school senior parents need to take a step back and let our boys start their new lives (boy, this is easier said than done)!

Oh, by the way, I have found Obsever 44's advice to always be sound. When he speaks.......people listen. He has helped our family more than he knows through the years. We could probably start a thread just about him and his sage advice. Thank you, O'44!

Why thank you all ever so much!...you are ever so kind. I am gratified and humbled by the comments. Means a great deal, because it means that in the end, after all is said and done that our experience and struggle came to something because it helped others find their way to the next step.

You all are very fortunate, to be on good "teams". You have tight families. You have great kids, who have worked hard. And they are fortunate enough to have you all who cared enough to research and provide them with information and options...and listened to them. Just as importantly you all have great hearts, perspective and humanity.

You will be great resources for the next group as you “pay it forward”...and I have seen this a bunch already...pretty darned cool!

Oh and congrats...you and your sons will love college ball!

Cool 44
