Please help me honor a young man who died too soon.

I have a friend whose son's murder could have been avoided. He came home from school and heard a noise upstairs. He dialed 911 and put the phone in his pocket, then went upstairs to investigate. There were two 16 year olds stealing computers and other such items. He was shot in the back of the head, with the incident being recorded by 911.

The family is now reliving the horror in the trial of one of the killers. So tragic. He was a HS senior, an athlete and musician.

When this happened I spoke to my son about not going in the house if something looks or sounds strange. I will remind him of that again tonight. Please remind your sons about this in the memory of Eric Forrester.

Thank you for sharing that twotex. I will tell not only my sons, but my daughters, wife and friends too. Eric's story is so very sad.

There was a similar incident here in the Chicago suburbs recently. A beautiful young high school girl was taken from all of us by an armed robber who was interrupted during his theft by this innocent young girl. For blocks and blocks along the roads leading towards the suburb where she had lived there are white ribbons tied with sad fingers around trees, mail boxes, fences, and sign posts. These ribbons commemorate her birthday. Her story is very sad. The robber was arrested so her family will have to endure a trial as well.
