Congratulations to the Lake Highland Wildcats on winning the Qualifier and advancing to the Connie Mack World Series in Farmington, NM this summer. We were in the World Series with them last summer, but did not play them. How many players do they have returning from last year's team?

We are heading to NY for the other Qualifier (July 1-5). It would be great to win it and join the Wildcats back in Farmington. Anyway, congratulations to the players and coaches from the LH Wildcats and good luck at the World Series!
We pulled back into town earlier today from Denver. Thanks to all that followed the tournament and were rooting us on. Over the course of the week I must have gotten a hundred phone calls from well wishers back home.

I keep asking Rusty Hill where he keeps that lucky horseshoe as just like last year’s Regional his Wildcats again got a bye into the championship game. His boys played very well in the final game as we squared up on a number of balls but it seemed they were all hit right at ‘em. It’s good to see Dallas baseball teams perform so keenly on such a large stage and I’m certain the Wildcats will represent our city and the BBI Premier Division well in Farmington. I’d put good money down that another BBI Premier team takes the Regional Tournament to join them and I’m not necessarily referring to us.

Our DBAT boys went 7-2 and played pretty well for just the second week of the summer season. The players have already gotten a solid grasp of the coaching system and have become a close knit group – which should make for a great summer. Out of an exceptional group of kids I would like to point out that one in particular, Cameron Rupp, excelled both at the plate and behind it as an injury to our other catcher made it necessary for Cam to catch all nine games of the tourney. If you haven’t seen him play take my word that he is something special.

As for the questions about who was or was not with us on the trip……Kershaw, Walden, Sulentic and Bolsinger could not attend the tournament for varying reasons and Slakey and Mowrey both had to leave on Saturday. While it would have been great to have had them all with us it should not take anything away from how our kids competed. We are disappointed we didn't win the last game but we're all proud of their efforts.

Here’s a rundown of our games:

DBAT d. Colorado Springs Jets (15-1)
DBAT d. Grandview (17-5)
DBAT d. Rocky Mountain Diamondbacks (16-8)
Rapid City, SD d. DBAT (10-6)
DBAT d. Cherry Creek (15-11)
DBAT d. Albuquerque Cubs (11-3)
DBAT d. LH Wildcats (8-2)
DBAT d. Lubbock Hubbers (10-4)
LH Wildcats d. DBAT (6-4)

Jerry, I enjoyed talking to you in Colorado. Your son played well in the tournament and had a big hit against us in the final. Good luck to Taylor and the Wildcats in Farmington.

would like to thank everyone for voting me Coach of the Year. I am so blessed and excited to recive such an award by this panel.

I plan on receiving this award in Colorado at the end of the tournament. DBAT GM I wish you would be around to present it to me but I am sure your train left days before the tournament ended.

Train, sorry I missed you in Denver. I looked all over for you on Sunday and Monday but to no avail.
Did the award presentation go well?
