I'm sure this has been answered many times but I'm tailoring this to my situation. At this point, my '05 son has no real idea what school that he is interested in. It appears that he has generated interest from several ACC and SEC schools. I know there are a gazillion reasons in choosing schools, but my question is this.

What should be expected by the college recruiters making initial contact on and after July 1st and what should be the proper replies if my son has no particular school of interest at this point....he likes them allBig Grin

The proper replies should be honest answers. "I don't know or I am not sure" are also honest answers.

Most first contact calls are very one-sided, with the coaches calling to give a short "spiel" about their program and school.

It never hurts to have a list of questions ready. I feel that it is important for the player to ask the questions, not the parent, at least at first.

You'll find some questions here in these articles:

As for interest level response ..... I always hear one common thread from college coaches, "we don't recruit players that don't want to be here."

Most coaches feel that it is a waste of time and effort and ultimately a bad fit if the "talk a player into liking their program."
