Like many on this board, my son has thrown in his bat. It's been a great ride. He has worked hard since little league, played on great teams with great coaches, dads and travel coaches. We traveled far and wide as a family and enjoyed every minute of it. For many years I lived on this site, seeking advice from those who have been there. I supported my son 100% and it paid off. He made first team all conference in his senior year of high school. I wouldn't change any of it and in recognition he was offered a nice spot on a college team.
But, he declined the offer and elected to join the Marines. I know it's the right fit for him at this time in his life and my wife and I fully support him.
All this to say: Enjoy the moment with your son.
