TR is the cheaters last line of defense. After Tooto pulled back the curtain on these guys, TR can be heard, "Hey, didn't you hear the wizard, he said don't look behind that curtain."
He'll be with them until they go from the back of the limo to the front. Maybe Petitte read his posts and thought if that the best defense, I need to cop to something.

Remember when Giambi went through this a few years ago?

Everyone hated him, then he admits and apologizes for his actions, now everyone for the most part loves the guy again. It's still wrong what he did, but it's in the past, people have moved on.

Hopefully people will move on from this.

Yeah Pettite doesn't exactly have a solid character now, but at least he had the courage to admit he was wrong.

Hopefully more players follow his example.

Actually, Andy flatly denied using when first accused by Jayson Grimsley a year ago. He is a cheater and a liar.
Is a conditional apology a real apology? Confused

Pettitte said he tried HGH on two occasions, stressing he did it to heal faster and not enhance his performance. He emphasized he never used steroids.

"If what I did was an error in judgment on my part, I apologize," Pettitte said Saturday in a statement released by his agent. "I accept responsibility for those two days."

Did he deny using it or did he just make the statement that he never tested positive?

Here ya go. He actually only denied trying to enhance performance. Does he have a law degree?

October 2, 2006, Pettitte was "stunned" by the report.

"I played with Grimsley for a couple of years in New York and had a great relationship with him," the pitcher said before the Astros' game.

"I've never used any drugs to enhance my performance in baseball. I don't know what else to say except to say it's embarrassing my name would be out there."

Not a big stretch to say he lied in 2006.

Here's a slightly different take, which seems to be a more comprehensive denial:
quote:
Houston-based agent Randy Hendricks, who represents Clemens and Pettitte, 34, told the Associated Press: "I'm told (Grimsley) has denied saying all of this. It's an agent's recollection about a conversation he had about conjecture."

I've grown weary of having to defend (Clemens) from innuendo and conjecture about every six months for the last several years when he's complied with all of the rules and regulations," Hendricks told the AP. "Andy is just surprised and stunned and has no knowledge of any such activity."
