My son's E2 is about dead; can't complain much: 4 years of regular use. Pricey and seems quality has NOT improved in recent years, so don't want to go that route again. I've looked around a lot and cannot seem to get traction on a really good subsistute. That is, reviews seem to mostly stink or ar at least highly inconsistent. But I need to move on a replacement.

What do folks think of the Mizuno Samurai 4 wheeled catchers bag, available widely such as:https://www.batterschoice.com/...yh7b8CFQQQ7AodeVsAmg Not many reviews, but what I've seen are good (small sample size). Can anyone make an informed, STRONG recommendation for a wheeled catchers bag?

Thanks!

My son really likes the Wilson Pudge wheeled bag once a major design flaw is fixed.  As it comes from Wilson the bag has fabric covering the bag in the area near the wheels.  This will drag on the ground and does rip, wrecking the bag.  So an email to Wilson customer service (after taking photos) and they send my sone a new bag.  So, I disassemble the original bag and save the plastic bottom lining.  I cut a piece of the plastic off and using a heat gun, form a piece of plastic to cover the area between the wheels on the new bag, and then using a rivet gun install the plastic on the new bag.  This protects the bag while it's being moved and the bag works very, very well.  It's nice and roomy, the top packet can be removed for embroidery, the side pockets hold the leg guards well, and it can carry a number of bats.  All without it being a huge bag.  It's a great bag if you tweek it.  As it comes from the factory it's junk.  My son thought the Mizuno bag was a bit small.

I assume your son is a 2016 graduate? My son is also a 2016. Rarely if ever have I seen a catcher in HS with a wheeled bag. Maybe on the freshman team, but have seen none on JV or Varsity. I do understand Batty67 son having to walk to school with his gear though.

My son also stopped using a wheeled bag when he got to HS.  He uses a combination of a baseball backpack and an athletic bag with a long strap that he wears across his body.  They have quite a walk from the locker room to the field (not 500 yards, but close) and since he wears that bag across his body, getting rid of the wheels was obviously not a macho thing!  Haha.  Regardless of which wheeled bag he had, they didn't hold up to the wear and were just too unwieldy....too big to fit in his baseball locker and always in the way in smaller dugouts.
