Has anyone had experience with AP credits and the NCAA? I know that you have to always be progressing towards your degree and I wonder if claiming AP credits are counted for or against you. My son has quite a few hours of credit that he could get, enough to change his class designation after the first semister making him a sophomore. Thanks

My son starts his freshman year in a couple of weeks, with 23 credit hours already in the bank. Like yours, he did a lot of AP time in high school. ...picked up a few more hours this summer. ...no penalty or problem there with the NCAA. Academic success will not be penalized. There are still four years of eligibility, so long as minimal academic requirements are met.

As I see it, having the extra hours eases the pressures of adjusting to college curriculla and practices, and enables the student to take a minimal load during baseball season.

I think my son's plan is to accumulate enough hours that he could graduate after three years and either move on, or stick around for his 'senior' year taking grad level courses.
