Any surprises in practice so far?

Only suprise for me is that I was only able to watch about an hour of practice thus far.

You aren't supposed to watch practice. Or was that you are supposed to watch practice.


Well, I at least hope that you were invited.

Since I haven't received my invitation, and the custom here is for no spectators at practice, I'll have to wait until the fundraiser game tomorrow to have any observations.

What has surprised me is my son asking me to help him work on technique this weekend.

Oh and although I have been invited to practice by coach and several players,and yes the son is one of them, I seem to keep showing up right at the end as something always seems to delay me.

my senior son invited me to come out on Wednesday so I did, my freshman son never did invite me but he was with the varsity so I got to see them both.

I was just joshing, Coug.

Haven't seen any practices...will be at the intrasquad scrimmage tomorrow.

Surprise was frosh son will get a look for varsity. Has to perform to stay, but has at least caught the coach's eye.

Real proud of him...he works hard.

Even if he doesn't stick with varsity this season, he is excited about the future and it has certainly motivated him even more to continue to work.

Texan: I knew you were kidding I was just saying I followed protocol and did get an invite

Tbird: I too have a freshman son who has made the varsity and from what I have seen he is pushing the boy in front of him hard at 3B the only problem with that is that my oldest and the one the young one is pushing and my freshman are good friends.

Remember - it is really quite an unofficial protocol, initiated by those here that reject the notion that parents should visit practices -- or other school activities.

I was a little surprised to hear that PantherSon was K'd by our Arkansas signee yesterday --- THREE TIMES!!! (confidence building gone awry?)

This kid (the LHP) is going to make a splash this year.

Coug: Tough deal, but I have that the kids know who should be there and they accept it better than the parents.

PD: I don't knock those that enjoy going to practices, especially when their kids like it. I decided once he hit the HS campus, it was his time to do what he was going to do. I don't want to add any additional pressure on him.

Congrats to your son! My son who is a senior said there was alot of freshman trying out.It's great to hear that as Northwest grows, so does the talent pool! Looking forward to the intra-squad scrimmage tomorrow. Hopefully the fields didn't get too wet today.

Thanks, lew, we'll see what happens. He will have to handle both the performance and the backlash from other players. Hopefully he is able to handle both.
