Just purchased an electronic stimulus machine to try out on junior's arm. It has both EMS mode (for recovery and strengthening) and TENs mode (for pain). He has had some minor elbow issues in the past and wanted to try this along with his normal band work/strengthening exercises. A buddy of mine used one for recovery from shoulder surgery and swears by it. Anyone used one of these before?

My son got one and used it regularly in his rehab from ACL reconstruction surgery this spring/summer. They also routinely used it during his physical therapy sessions too. We haven't used it on his elbow for the tenderness/tendinitis that he he gets fairly frequently and really hadn't thought about using it for that until reading these posts. Any suggestions? He has an EMSI unit...
I used e-stim over the past 3 months at therapy. I think personally it helped quite a bit. I would do it after the therapy session and have an ice pack over at the same time and usually do that for 15 min or so depending on how long they set it for. e-stim the therapist said is what I wanted to buy, not tens unit. Tens unit is just for the pain and does not help with inflamtion(if the unit is strictly the tens unit). The e-stim helps out with keeping inflammation down. I am planning on purchasing one very soon. I think they are worth the money.
