4thGen and 7 or 8 kids that played for me in club balled played in this league last summer.

The level of play is really improving and most of the games are played at spring training facilities. Plenty of innings for pitchers. I know last year the director of the league was planning on limiting the number of players addmited to make the teams more even.

Let me know what questions you have and I'll be glad to let you know what to expect.
Oh yeah I forgot to mention that. Living here we get used to it I guess, 4thGen's team did have a kid from the Midwest that just started wandering around halfway through a game because he was severly dehydrated. It would have been pretty funny if it had not been so dangerous.

I was at every game and other then the days you could not sit down in the metal stands, the heat was not a big deal.
Attendance at the games was pretty sparse. I usually recoginized everyone as a parent or girl friend. The only time I saw scouts were when a stud pitcher was throwing for one team or the other and they disapeared pretty quick after the kid threw. To be fair, at most of the facilities you could watch multiple games at once so there might have been more people watching then I was aware of.

A number of the coaches in the league were actively recruiting the JUCO kids. One of the pitchers from my son's team was recruited to an NAIA school by his manager. I know other coaches helped kids get placed with various programs.
Just came across this thread. This is a laid-back league that has pretty good competition and serves a great purpose for lots of local guys who choose not to go away for summer baseball.

It is hot in AZ in the summer, but nothing that is all that hard to get used to. The key is to stay hydrated.

The league has drawn lots of smaller college players and lots of juco players.

Rain is never a factor.
