Part of judging a great catch is the fielder evaluating what happens after he catches the ball (the landing). This player could have said to himself, “It’s the last day of the season. We’ve already lost 100+ again. It’s game 162. I’m not getting hurt now. Let this sail and get out of here (it would have been a walk off).”
Instead he may have made the catch of the year.
