Can someone give me some tips on how to create my avatar. I tried to get it done during registration but it just asked me to post a link. I want to upload a pic from my files. Thanks in advance.

If you google "image hosting" it will come up with a number of sites that you can upload your photo to, so that it will be hosted online. It will also give you a link to get/show that photo. Enter that link into the custom avatar box (without any http:// or www. preceding the link).
I get all my pictures on here using photobucket.com
copy and paste the "IMG Code" into the avatar site.
