Hello all
does anyone have a son who tried out for this organization and has played for them? my son wants to attend the tryout in February, but i really do not know what is involved with the exception of writing a 400.00 check

The $99 check is a good way to get over the jitters of your first showcase without breaking the bank. Not sure I'd recommend the $400 version.
It is 129.00 for the event in PA but he is only a sophomore. You make a good point.
Not to steal the thread, but wondering if a kid wants to get on the radar for the event at Wrigley Field is the $129 showcase a cheap possibility or do they scout other organization’s events? Is the event at Wrigley rising juniors and seniors or just seniors?

I think it IS important if you want to be in the Under Armor game at Wrigley. I know most people say its not, but BF called me 3-4 times and told me that they couldn't invite my son if they didn't see him. They gave us several options that he could get to but we were in playoffs. His pitching coach who also used to work for PBR also thought we should try to get to one of the showcases to get the invite. We couldn't make it work. I will say that most of the guys that did make it are guys he has played with at other invite only things and he legitimately would have been in the mix so I think it matters. Maybe just wishful thinking.

Agree with this about getting in their database for consideration for the UA game at Wrigley. Or on a lesser scale, if you did want to try for an invite for the pre-season All American games in Arizona (which do seem to still have a little bit of that money grab feel. But dang do they get a bunch of sweet gear and get treated well) I would say that if that is a goal of your player, it's not a bad idea for the lowest level showcase. Especially if you have not done a showcase before and just trying to get some measurables you can use.
My son did the cheapest tryout. It was nice to get measurables and see how he stacked up. He later did some other events, all in AZ, because we have family and friends there and it was nice to get out of the sub zero temps. I would have to say our favorite event was the AZ Fall Classics. A D1 from CA saw him there and kept in touch, until he committed elsewhere. If I had to go back we would probably only go to college camps of schools we are interested in or to events that have many colleges at them. Coming from a part of the country that doesn’t have a lot of access to baseball training and events, we learned a lot from the coaches and other parents at the events. We also got some input from coaches on what level they projected him to play. We only have HS and Legion ball here. A lot of events are also in the winter when our son is in basketball. If you live where there are more chances to be “seen” it should save you some money!

As my son is entering that recruiting age, I'm amazed at how many money grabs there are out there. I'm thankful my son's coach warns us about that stuff.

Total waste of time. Several years ago, they told my son he should be a hitter and not a pitcher after his performance at a event ($99) thing. He is a LH pitcher in college now.
