For all those who are new to baseball game, this video can be very helpful. Recently, I found the few videos posted on http://www.clipta.com/search/Baseball+Hitting+Tips+ http://www.clipta.com/search/Baseball+Hitting+Tips+ focusing on basic techniques of hitting a baseball. The tips have been provided by the former Tulane University head baseball coach Joe Brockhoff. I liked the video and enjoyed it.

Smith1980,
you posted some excellent information on hitting from Coach Joe Brockhoff,I have been teaching "Ted Williams" methods along with what I have learned for many years now, I have viewd all of his clips and when he gets down to the main aspects of hitting I am reminded so much of Ted's methods.all of those interested in improving their hitting, experienced or inexperienced need to take your advice and click on, his clips are excellent and helpful with a lot of thought and preparation behind them also my advice to those wanting to learn excellent and proper hitting methods would be to learn them starting from Ted's information and going from there.
Like Ted said "THE HIPS LEAD THE WAY," in observing hitters from the major leagues on down I do not see the hips load up,reverse rotation, show the front hip pocket to the pitcher as he shows you his front hip pocket, leading the way with the step, stride executed at the same time which is most important in getting the pendulum action in motion and setting up the timing.
