OK, be honest now, how many of you baseball junkie dads went out and played catch with your sons today in the driveway or some parking lot? The weather was incredible and it was hard not to be thinking about Spring training and opening day today. The unwritten rule around our house was that we played catch any day it got above 45 F, however, I don't ever remember it occurring this early in the year. Wasn't able to do it this year since my son left for college yesterday where his opening day is now less than seven weeks away. Can't wait for the season to begin, even though I know we will all be freezing in March and April when the season gets going in Illinois!! Have to enjoy the good days when we can I guess!

I remember 1967 here in Chicago. It hit 60 degrees in January & a few days later we had a 3 feet snow. Couple days after that it was 15 below. It was not fun delivering the newspapers that winter & that is probably why I remember weather events like that. Kids don't deliver papers anymore so they don't have that "early morning experience" like some of us old timers. I also remember the snow was still on the ground that Easter too! Back then they were screaming we were headed for an ice age again, now it's global warming. Who do you believe?

Enjoy tomorrow cause it probably won't hit 60 until April.
My Son really wanted to go outside yesterday and throw but he had an early morning baseball practice indoors with the team.(not quite warm at 7:30am) then in the afternoon he had to be the 9u neighbor boy's big buddy for baseball camp.

A full day of baseball but no outside-it is supposed to be 70 again today so maybe after school. This is Jan. in the midwest right??
