Batting gloves

It seems that "durable" and "batting gloves" are oxymorons! I can't tell you how many old worn out pairs of gloves we have - I find them all over the place! THey are thin for a reason, but they also wear out fast!

If you want durable, we were playing a team from Texas, and they were wearing cowhide work gloves and they swore by them!

I played with a guy in college who did the same. It looks very funny but it does help a lot.

My Son gets them free now in college, but we had the best luck with Cutters. Very durable!

Other than Cutters, we got just as much wear from the cheap Franklins at Wal-Mart as anything else.

The key is to let them dry outside of the bat bag and not wadded up inside.

I even thought about inventing some kind of plastic "hands" with air-holes in them or a cedar shoe tree-like thing for batting gloves.

2B likes his cutters, too. He keeps them in a plastic bag so they never dry out (but you don't want to smell them!). They lasted through the HS and summer seasons, and are still looking good for the fall.

Saw the cowhide work gloves as well. You know those things never, ever wear out. Trick is to get your son to accept something that doesn't have a Nike "swoosh" or Underarmour insignia. Friend's kid wore some welding gloves and swore by them. The answer is obvious if you go functionality vs. fashion.

I've seen guys use golfing gloves

I personally go for the most flashiest/ best looking, but thats just me.
