PA 3, FC 0. Another good pitching performance by Bulman, FC and Hudson & Hendrix, PA. There was a few loaded bases for FC. No key hit when they needed it. Lots of coaching moves. Fun to watch!

Kellam 1 - Bayside 0

Pretty much a pitcher's duel, with a total of 4 hits, 2 from each team. 5 solid innings from Spillers, and 2 nail biting innings from Ray, as he was able to pitch his way out trouble(Kellam).
Sorry I don't know the name of lefty for Bayside, but he pitched a great 7 innings for the Marlins.

The Knights lone run came in the 4th when Jason Taylor led off the inning with a bunt single and then a stolen base. Thomas Carnes moved him to 3rd on a grounder to the right side, followed by another right side ground ball by Daniel Bierce.

I guess the bunt can be a powerful weapon!

As I am sure it was everywhere in the beach today, the wind chill temperature hovered close to the freezing mark. Let's all hope for warmer weather on Friday.
The Kempsville/Salem game was rather interesting --- "gof" states game wasn't inertesting without the B boy on the mound --- don't remember seeing him on the mound. The other pitchers did a good job--- one bad inning defensively cost Salem the game. If the centerfielder for Salem wouldn't have been backing everyone up it could have gotten worst. Hustle was the name of his game -- was impressed with Salem's starter --- good change up, the best I've seen this year -- the big reliever for K'ville good fastball --- believe he was the starting catcher -- still alot of zip in the late inning when needed -- hope to see a good matchup PA/Ocean Lakes this Friday.
4th ranked PA recieved a very good outing by former FC pitcher Danial Hudson. He retired the 1st 9 batters he faced. he had good pop on his fast ball with location, Brandon Hendrix came in and pitched out of jams in the 5th and 6th. PA scored on 2 sac fly's and a swinging bunt. PA made the plays when they had to. The centerfielder for PA ran down a Bulman drive to deep right center to end the 4th with runners at 2nd and 3rd and then he made a nice catch on a R Fee drive at the fence in left center to start the 5th, a inning in which FC left runners in scoring postion again. Hendricks pitched out of baseloaded situation in the 6th. Bulman was solid in his 5 innings of work. Like Fieldbuilder said, a very good game to watch.

First Colonial 6 Salem 3

Salem started the scoring in the 1st with 2 runs on sac flys. In the 4th Ryan Sykes started FC with a solo shot to centerfield, Nick Cruit followed that up with a 2 run shot to give FC the lead. Fc scored 3 in the 5th with Muller deep drive to right center that appeared the right fielder may have lost in the sun. Salem scored 1 in the 5th to cut the lead to 6-3 and had the bases loaded with no outs when Sykes threw out the runner at home trying to score on a fly ball, big league throw from medium deep right field. Muller pitch the 7th and left 2 runners on base. FC pitched this game by committee, R Fee pitched 2, DJ Rathbone 2, G Bulman 2 and Muller 1. J Spears had 3 hits for Salem.

OL 3 PA 2
Not sure if OL got their 3 runs in the first or top of the 2nd before I arrived- PA picked up there 2 runs in the bottom of the 2nd. Andrew Ballard had a jack for OL, and Enselmo Cantu threw 5 in a great relief effort for OL. Very fun game to watch in front of a fairly large crowd. Sorry I dont know the player who threw for PA but I thought he threw very well the 6 innings I saw him.(I do know he had a minimum 6k's )

Kempsville 11 Green Run 0
Kempsville got 7 runs in the first, Green Run pitchers had problems throwing strikes and when they did Kempsville unloaded on them. Honeycutt had a solo home run. Freshman Neil Ramirez pitched 4 innings of 3 hit ball and didn't allow a ball to leave the infield. Ramirez got his first varsity win

Kellam 4 Landstown 1
It was a game of unearned runs.
Kellam scored the only earned run of the game in the top of the first. Jason taylor led off the game with a base hit, followed by a BB by Carnes. On an attempted double steal, Taylor was thrown out at 3rd. Bierce's single to right scored Carnes.
Raehl (Kellam) had two singles in the game.
Landstown committed 4 or 5 errors to allow Kellam's other 3 runs.
Landstown's lone run also scored due to a wild pitch.
Donavan (Kellam) threw 5 good innings, scattering 2 or 3 hits.
Crain (Landstown) went a solid 7 innings allowing 5 hits. If he would have had better defense, it may have been a different outcome.
KHS 04,
I must agree with your observation of the lefty's ego, after all I do believe that the long standing joke around the KHS locker room was that it was rather tough to fit his head through the gate of the field. However that being said, perhaps his departure was for the best and it seems that Kempsville hasnt been too crushed by his absence....Good luck tomorrow Chiefs!!!!!!!!
