I couldn't seem to find an answer on their Web site and I know there are many users here, so hopefully someone can clarify this for us.

2013 has a deluxe membership so we can actually identify which coaches have viewed his information. What we aren't clear on is if we will know each time one of those coaches returns to look at his stuff, or if they only appear as an interested coach the first time they visit.

It seems to me that they are only added the first time they visit. Then from time to time we see that he has had "views" but his interested coach information does not change . . . so we assume that someone has come back to look at updates, etc., but their name doesn't appear each time.

Does anyone know?

Hi RF BB Mom:

We have the free version so far. I have combed the website looking for some kind of contact phne number but, they have been very good at making themselves inaccessible.

We are planning to upgrade to a paid subscription in the fall however; it surprises me that you dont get much more perks than our free version.

Right now, we have 43 Coaches who have at least looked; 6 of those coaches have bookmarked (even with a free subscription, these are actually listed by name and school); we have 135 coach views and 165 total views.

A coach view as I understand it, is a view of a single page by one coach. Thus, if a coach looks at your profile, your academic page, your photo page and your video page, that would count as 4 coach views - all done by one coach in a single session.

The fact that a paid subscriber cannot view the identity of a return visitor somewhat negates the value of the service. For example, they encourage you to make more and more connections. We are at 3266 connections. It will be virtually impossible for us to learn of a single coach coming back to look if we were to actually subscribe. I hope their programmers are listening... why would we bother to pay?

I have a question for you. Do you have the ability to send invites to the same coach multiple times (for example when you've updated videos etc.) or once you've sent out the first invites, it's the last time you can?

Down at the bottom of their website page is a "Contact Us" button with an email address. I'd start there.
I have the Deluxe Version for my 2012 and yes, you can see when a coach returns. Each coach access shows as visit and the name is provided. For example, I know the Stonybrook coach looked late last year and again last month. I also know when a coach book marks the player, and who the coach is. I also get a text when a new coach bookmarks the player.

They definitely are NOT good when trying to contact the site owners. I've used their report feature twice to advise them of a fictional player on my son's team and they have not acknowledged it.

I recently emailed them via their Contact Us feature and so far have not heard back from them.

But for the cost I find them well worth it. As you will see elsewhere on these boards the only thing that will actually get you recruited is for a coach to see you play. But this tool allows you to at least get on their radar, and provide a talking point for follow up, as well as a good loading point for pictures and video.

I THINK that a notice of profile update only goes out to those coaches who actually book mark your profile, and not to all contacts. However, you do have the ability to use the College Tracker to send notes out to coaches of your choosing.

Your guy should be narrowing his targeted schools down to 10 to 15 and be in contact with them proactively.

BeRecruited might help identify some school you never thought of but its not the be all and end all of the process by any means.

As to the other person planning to upgrade in the fall, the good thing about BeRecruited is its a one time upgrade fee, not an annual one. So why wait to upgrade?
My son a 2011 grad has the deluxe version and used it to uploaded videos and profile information. The Spring of Junior year he added his summer schedule and showcase schedule.
For how little it costs I say it is well worth it. Coaches followed him to tournaments and showcases on his schedule and the only way they would have know this was seeing it listed on the website. My son also received numerous "personal" emails from coaches that viewed him asking him to contact them.
Coaches from every level contacted him...so again, I say it works.

With deluxe we can still only invite a coach one time. But, we spoke with a coach at a camp on their campus and he said he had viewed the information and even specifically told us their preferred type of video to load. So, we do know they are watching.

Even with some less-than-ideal customer service, I would also agree that it's worth the $60 one-time fee as a part of a much larger strategy.
And right after I wrote (above) that their customer service may be lacking, I received a response to my inquiry.

Another nice feature is the ability to have your HS or Club coach 'approve' the player's profile, and add a reference for the player. While a college coach would likely call the referring coach to confirm it, it seems to be a nice touch for validating what is on the profile.

And you're right, you can only 'invite' a coach once, but since the coach's email is provided you can use their writing tools, or your own email, to continue to provide updates to targeted coaches, and giving them a link back to your berecruited profile for them to look at again.

For one time $60 it seems like a great tool, but certainly not the only one.
All good stuff here.

I decided to try the site out with a free site.

There are a few reasons why I feel we should wait to upgrade.

Right now, he has more than enough coach-views for a 2014. I say this from the standpoint that I believe coaches look at players that other coaches have looked at. They have no other criteria other than a single tiny thumbnail picture. Looking at college game schedules right now, I dont think anyone is really going in to look that much.

Waiting for the fall, he has one full transcript under his belt. His mechanics have changed quite a bit and I want to capture these changes in game video this summer. I also want to capture some pick-off's on video and how he holds runners.

I dont believe a lot of coaches just go in to have a look at the 2014 list very much at all. They see players on the Featured board and Today's Most Popular board. It's my theory that just because you're on the Featured Board does not guarantee success - there has to be a good story to tell. If we paid to have the subscription now, he would be just revolving on that board saying the same thing every few days.

I also believe in changing the pictures and videos every little while. Right now, our time is better spent working with the core, staying back, and getting the hips to lead faster.

i have had head coaches view one day and assitant coaches hours later.they talk i would imagine.i dont believe you can invite them more than one time BUT you can send letters to them OR when you run out of invites set up a blog and invite the coach via email to your blog..on there you can direct him to your schedule or a new video you may have just uploade..again you have to be PROACTIVE..
