Someone mentioned purple and orange together in another topic. I came across this blog.

Believe it or not, this is a topic that comes up during recruiting, the wearing of the colors, white pants (tradition) and why Omaha in the Tiger Paw on the back of the cap.

At first I didn't care for it, but it sort of grew on us, my husband invested heavily in the orange and purple, great memories when I look at those unis. And yes they wear white socks!

What was pretty impressive (that we learned during recruiting) is that the bb program has a great history and that history included why they wear the white fitted stirrup pants. Originally wool with no zipper, Coach Wilhelm brought over the idea from Europe. He looked at it as cost effective, with long white pants no stirups were needed and the cost of white sanitary sox was minimal, I guess the idea stuck. While some don't like pants down, it took a bit of getting used for son to having to wear pants up in pro ball.

If anyone has ever played in that outfield, there is no backstop, more of an incline going to the fence, they spend lots of time practicing how to field balls. While some programs have short parks, good wind location, Clemson has their outfield!

Just thought that I would post something other than the usual! Any good stuff on where your sons play college ball?

The blog is pretty good, JMO.

As far as uniforms go, I like the Tiger's. I wouldn't another team dressed like that in the country, but one is good. (I don't know what it is that causes it but when I see a Clemson player I get a strong desire for a good humor bar.)

Interestingly, Wake Forest, with its brand new field has an incline in the outfield too.

Since my son has a couple of friends who play there I plan on making a trip to Tigerland this spring.
