Steve Englishbey Video

Having said that, this is not a "slick" video with a whole lot of effects that you just sit there and watch and get better via magic. You need to be committed to working on understanding what he is saying (in sort of a mad-scientist kind of way) and investing time in his online forum and really working at it. There is no "easy button" with the Englishbey stuff.
That's right - no free lunches. He's putting the work in. As a matter of fact- we keep a practice journal so we can see what he's done. I am a guitar teacher, and that's exactly what I do with my students. That way they can see that their hard work WILL pay off.

I just wanted to know which video is the best to start with- entry level introduction to rotational hitting. He's not a beginner baseball player by any stretch, but I don't have any rotational material.
BTW: Steve Englishbey is a drummer and will chew your ear off about music and baseball so watch out... He also lives in Texas (Houston) and was a 1st round draft MLB pick of the Houston Astros for what it's worth...

There are 2 Englishbey videos but the videos themselves aren't really the point (the videos are actually full of information but weak from a production standpoint). It is more of a "system" refined from other rotational hitting instructors, sports physiology and kinesiology, video motion analysis of YOUR kids swing, and all kinds of other stuff thrown into some "norms" that all "high level" hitters exhibit. He gives you TONS on very specific drills and is extremely active on the forum (i.e. continuous feedback, not just a "watch once and done" approach).

It is critical to also understand that the Englishbey stuff requires that YOU participate and learn in order to be your sons coach. You can't just plop Little Johnny on the couch in front of the video and expect anything to happen, just as you can't hand a guitar to a kid and expect him to start channelling Django Reinhardt right away. If you want to learn about hitting and can commit to spending the time to studying and then working with your kid, I have found none better than Englishbey (and I have a closet full of hitting videos to prove it).
Thanks for the info. I am in Houston too.

I'm like you, I have a bunch of videos, books, and a garage full gadgets... always thinking that "this will be THE one"... I have learned a lot from the books and videos, so I don't consider it money wasted.... maybe a few of the gadgets on the other hand..

But yes, I do work with my son...a lot. I enjoy it, and like every other Dad here, I want to help him as much as I can.

From the looks of it, I would need to get the whole ball of wax to make it work??

1. The Swing Training Basics- no drills on this one?
2.Adavanced Training DVD's- drills..

I wondered the same with Epstein's stuff. There are a couple of different DVD's. Where to start?

The DVD from batpseed.com looked good too..
