There's a wood bat league team [Central Illinois Collegiate League] in the Chicago suburbs that top college players should consider. The team is the DuPage Dragons. http://www.dupagedragons.com. The facility is a new $11 million dollar facility, the competition is great, players have access to the Chicago White Sox training academy in Lisle and the players spend their off days hanging out at Oak Street Beach or Wrigley Field. I almost forgot, they share an apartment complex on the campus of Benedictine University with Jennie Finch and the Chicago Bandits. This is the premier location to play summer collegiate league baseball. MLB scouts in attendance everyday.

My son has also played in three summer leagues, Northwoods, Clark Griffith, Fla Instructional Collegiate Leagues. All were positive experiences. In many cases, the managers of these leagues complete their rosters as early as possible. In other words, they are awaiting return of player contracts this month. His college Head Coach has traveled over the summer to watch him play (and to see potential transfers).
