Biggest upset...??

My high school teammate and one time training partner plays for Austin Peay, that's great to see.

San Francisco leads UCLA 3-0 in the 9th. Locals knew this was possible, but still a big upset if it holds.

I knew SOMETHING had to be wrong for Ga Tech to lose. Not taking anything away from Austin Peay.

But Tech's #1 pitcher, Mark Pope who was just selected as a Louisville All American and a Semi-finalist for the Golden Spikes award tweaked his back in a normal Thursday throwing program he goes through on Thursdays before friday starts. He only lasted 1 2/3 innings when the back injury set in.

Tough luck loss. But that's baseball I guess.

UCLA loaded the bases with 2 outs in the 9th, but San Francisco holds on to win 3-0. Big win for the Dons.

Nik Balog (I know that kid! ) goes 4-for-4 with 2 RBIs for USF.

YGD they still only scored 1 run. Ga Tech is very good. And I am sure it hurt having to take Pope out. But you got to throw a shut out on the board if your only going to score 1 run. They are good enough to come back out of the losers bracket. But they have to start hitting.

Arizona State and Cal State Fullerton are currently behind in their ball games.... could be more upsets on the way.

Update: Arizona State pulled out the 4-2 win over New Mexico with a walk-off HR in the bottom of the 9th.

Cal State Fullerton is now up 9-4.

That is very true Coach May. Scoring only 1 run at this point of the season ain't gonna get you anywhere.

They'll pitch lefty Bradley today against SMU. And then have hard-throwing Buck Farmer for the 3rd game. But now it's a "must win" situation here on out.
