My son and I went to the Battle of the States in St Pete Florida and it was loaded with colleges and gave us great exposure. The showcase /tournament concept was great!Blue Grey are great people too.It turned out as a super investment for us.
Casey: Got to weigh in on this one. This is from personal experience. Son was invited and played in the Wake Forest showcase in 2002. Son injured his knee in 2003 and did not get to play in the summer of 2003. I have emailed with Gus and he (Gus) also called son (2004) just to talk with him and tell him to "hang in there" that he (Gus) was still working for him and talking to colleges on his behalf. Gus cares about his kids! You can not go wrong with Blue & Gray. BTW when you go to B&G's homepage, that's my kid throwing on the left. Bottom line: Gus will work for your son. What more can you ask?

I don't know about the other areas but my son just returned from the one in Phoenix. The Sunday game was over 2 hours behind schedule and my son played 1 inning. I agree with the other post the amount of recruiters was far less than what we thought. My suggestion Save your money. One inning of play vs the cost of the flight, the fee, rental car, hotel was far more than what my son got out of it. Good Luck

My son attended two BG events.
Both were very well run, organized, etc. The Pro-Motion people seem to be very open and friendly and the coaches were very helpful. All in all, a lot of fun.
HOWEVER, be careful which events you go to. We went to one at Coastal Carolina that had very few college recruiters or pro scouts. The number of scouts/recruiters was NO WHERE NEAR what they advertise on the site. I personally know (becuase I met with the coach) of one school that was listed as attending that did not attend, although they were invited.
I have heard good things about the Wake Forest and William & Mary events. Use caution with the others, at least the CCU.
Our son received letter from Gus Bell, head of Blue/Grey, addressed to his high school to his attention with the Anaheim Angels logo on return address upper left hand corner of letter. The body of the letter stated "by invitation only, you have to be nominated by a scout or coach." I called Gus and asked him who nominated our son and he told me it would take too long to look up. In this computer age he should have just been able to pull up our sons name and found out pretty quickly, I would think. Anyway, went to the Pro-Time Showcase in Tempe at Angels facilities. Gus said in the letter all Major League teams would be represented. WHAT A JOKE THIS WAS. To start with there were no scouts we could see, nor were they even announced, about 6-7 JC scouts were there. Everything was behind schedule, the 60 yd dash was measured wrong, kids were running 61 yards at least. We saw many kids from the same school, sometimes 4 or 5. At least 90% of kids were not pro material. My advice is to stay away from this organization. Go to Perfect Game Showcases, they are the best in the business.
