There is a discussion thread in the General Forum about the upcoming Blue-Grey Underclass Showcase. I and others are hoping htat some of our seasoned veterans can tell us more about this event, and what players and parents can expect.

Thank you all for any insights you can offer.

Blue-Grey is the biggest joke in the land of baseball. We attended Blue-Grey in VA October 08. Son's team won the championship, was promised a championship ring. It is fast approaching one year since this event has passed and we have not yet received a championship ring. I saw ONE scout at the event from a DIII school and ONE scout from a not so good DI school. Lots of talented players from all over the East Coast. Boy what a waste of time and money. My advice, stay away from the Blue-Grey!
If you are just going to get the experience under your belt, it is an inexpensive one. I agree with the posts above in terms of how the program is run. My son attended the BG Classic at Wake-Forest summer of 2008. It was attended by DIII scouts and some mid major scouts as well (UNC Asheville, UCSC, etc.), however, they advertised major DI schools that did not attend, ie. UNC. If you are looking for exposure, this is not the showcase to attend.

My best advice is to talk to the schools you are intereted in and find out from their coaches which events they attend.
