Not much of an indoor facility - they just put a tent on the football field. So it is not available until footbal season is over.

In the fall the outfield is used as a practice field for the football team & as a parking lot for football games. Outfield is resodded each spring.

I know they are planning to build a new baseball stadium. We saw artists renderings last fall. That will fix the outfield issues.

ACC is pretty stout. I wouldn't expect BC to compete for 1st place very successfully against the likes of Miami, FSU, Tech, or Clemson.

In the current ACC configuration only Duke, Maryland, Va Tech, and Wake Forest had lower RPI ratings. RPI
BC provides a great opportunity for the student-athlete. Its academics are on a par with the Ivy's and they will offer athletic scholarship money. They play competitive baseball and as I have preached before, will make that tangible commitment which I believe is so important. There are only a handful of schools where you get the academics and the "commitment" - BC is one of them.
BC has had some great players and some great teams. For the last three years they have had one of the best pitchers in the Big East if not the nation.

Obviously, the weather always will be an issue. However, if the start of the college season is pushed back to March 1 across the board, that could have a huge impact.

In addition, do not underestimate the effect of ACC membership on the school's baseball program. The Eagles undoubtedly made a commitment to provide resources to baseball and other Olympic sports and they will have a whole lot more money for the funding from here on out. Moreover, they do not have to win the league to enjoy the benefits of the league. Like the SEC, if you finish .500 and toward the middle of the pack in the ACC, you probably are going to a regional.

It is a school I would take a long look at and then hope they had an interest in me.
I don't have an abundance of monetary wealth, but I view book money at a $38K school akin to tossing rocks into the Chestnut Hill Reservoir at Cleveland Circle. Not much effect on the bottom line.

I used to live in Boston. BC is a great school. We were excited by their interest in our player. But everything I mentioned in my initial post about the facilities there is accurate as of November 2003, as best as I can remember it.
Can I just add that it is always a good idea to try and talk with the team members of the school to try and get honest feedback re:
The program. Most of what you hear is wonderful about the school, but I have heard
from a couple people that they were not happy....
Try to find out why?
It may be something that would not effect your player.
