I am going to make a new CD for our team to listen to during Batting Practice.

What songs should I put on it?

The trick is it has to appeal to the players -AND- the people in the stands (parents/scouts/etc). The players are getting sick of country, most rap songs have profanity.

In my experience songs off the video games guitar hero, rock band, or the college baseball games are the most popular among players...not to mention some classics. Here are a few I love to hear

ACDC "Back in Black"
Audioslave "Cochise"

I was just going to suggest that song...I was playing winter ball in Arizona, and came across a funny story of a guy from San Diego who said his dad was IN Iron Maiden, but then changed his story to Iron Butterfly..haha

I am so grateful for anyone who has saved a "scratchy 45" or an album, took a video of it and posted it! And to those people who have posted the concerts and tv shows and commercials!!!! Thanks for contributing to this thread. There are a lot of very good suggestions and I am going to make a CD (or 2) w/ songs listed here. I would never have thought of several of these songs without your help as I didn't even know the title or artist of many of them even though once I heard them, I knew them.

I've now stored 297 songs on my laptop and claim to have every song that sounds good over a baseball PA system, but my favorite, and the one that starts our high school's BP for 9 years running, is "Long Cool Woman in a Black Dress", original version, not the recent re-make.

The most popular song, based upon getting requests almost every game, and this really is a song:

"I Met My Baby in the Porta-John Line", by Nothing Fancy. It's a great blue grass song crowds just love. (I even made a copy for a guy to play as the first song at his wedding reception.)

Nothing Fancy also plays "Oops, Momma Done Stepped On the Scales Again".
