In an exciting game, Brooke Point hands Colonial Forge their first loss of the early season on a walk off Home Run by 3B J.J. McDaniel (2011) in the bottom of the 9th.

Pitching was strong for both teams as Andrew Tyree (2010) pitched 7 solid innings for Brooke Point leaving with the game tied 1-1.

Chris Denno (2011) pitched the 8th and 9th for the Hawks, striking out the side both innings.

With Tyree taking a walk to lead off the bottom of the 9th, McDaniel smashed a towering HR to deep left-center field for the win.

RF Gary Pisall (2010) also homered in the game for Brooke Point.

The Hawks now head to Rock Hill, South Carolina for a spring break tournament.

Agree, it was a very exciting game with some great pitching by Andrew Tyree and Chris Denno for BP and Cody Quick and Chase Boster for CF. All four looked very strong and controlled the game throughout.

For BP, Tyree showed his mettle when, with bases loaded and no outs in the top of the third, he struck out two and forced a slow grounder back to the mound for the third out. Denno's six straight K's in relief was also outstanding. And, if you are a BP fan, it can't get much better than JJ McDaniel's walk-off two-run homer in the 9th. Kudos also go to Gary Pisell for his solo shot in the third over the left field fence keeping BP in this tight game.
